About Us
The lake had barely been open a year,
but it had already become a major part of life for sailors
in the area. With two arms, one running east to west and one north to
south, lake Joe Pool could provide a comfortable point of
sail anytime the wind was blowing enough to move a boat.
Add in a brand new marina with space for over 200
sailboats and it was inevitable that a Yacht Club would
blossom and grow here.
So it was that in the fall of
1990 a small group of sailors met in front of the ship’s
store at Lynn Creek Marina and forged the beginnings of
the Lynn Creek Yacht Club.
LCYC remains true today to the
basic concepts of sailing and camaraderie outlined in the
bylaws on that first day: “to promote recreational
boating, preserve
all forms of yachting, provide instruction in boat
handling, seamanship, and sailboat racing and to foster a
spirit of good fellowship through social and community
activities.”
The Officers and members of
Lynn Creek Yacht Club invite all members of the boating
community to visit us whenever they are in the Dallas/Ft.
Worth area.
